What happens on the first viewing of the venue?

We’ll take you round the house and grounds to give you a feel for our unique, family-run location and property. We’re confident you’ll fall in love with the place! But there’s no obligation at all at this stage, and this is a great chance for you to ask us any questions you may still have about holding your special occasion here, and to see whether Plas Dinam is right for you. Once you’ve decided to go ahead, we can talk about availability, deposits and anything else you’d like to ask. Remember, we’re a country house and not a hotel, so you’ll have exclusive use of the place while you’re here.

Are you a dog and pet-friendly wedding venue?

At Plas Dinam we love our animals and our own pets, and we know being able to bring your best friend with you can be a big factor in any decision about going away. So you or your guests are welcome to bring your much-loved pooch with you. We do ask that you do not bring more than 3 dogs and we do have a small charge. Unfortunately, we can’t take cats or other animals, so please leave them at home.

What facilities do you have for children at Plas Dinam?

Plas Dinam is a child’s heaven with all the space and freedom. The playroom, table tennis room and garden games are particularly popular. We’re aware that some events and celebrations may want to take place without children however, finding childcare can often be difficult. We are able to suggest local reliable babysitters or childminders to contact so that you can have a more relaxed and enjoyable weekend with some child-free time to yourselves. This will come at an extra cost.

What time do I need to finish celebrations by?

The great thing about having a country house exclusively for you is that it’s all very relaxed. However, we ask that your DJ or band finishes by 1230am and for those not staying over to leave the site at the same time – it’s also when the bar closes. However, other than that, you and your guests are free to carouse the night away to your heart’s content!

Do we need to pack up by the end of the night?

There’s no stipulation to do this, and again this is another benefit of having Plas Dinam to yourselves. The caterers and bar staff will do their own clearing up. Guests normally do the clearing away and packing up decorations the next day, but we can also do this for you (at an extra cost). We do, of course, ask that you leave the place tidy on departure.

What types of confetti can we use for the newlyweds?

We know that everyone loves a bit of confetti – indeed no wedding would be complete without the stuff! But it can be quite messy so we do ask that you use it outside only, and stick with real petals.

How many guests can I have at the ceremony and reception – and how many for the whole weekend?

Our elegant drawing room seats up to 80 guests if you want to exchange your vows in an intimate setting. For larger ceremonies, the hall is a superb space with room for up to 120 guests.

Prefer to tie the knot outside? Say ‘I do’ with a view – one you’d be hard-pushed to better anywhere in the UK. Our entrance is licensed for weddings, with seating for up to 160 guests in front of the main house. The beautiful Stables offer wet-weather back-up and seating for up to 160, with al fresco dining and dancing options.

Finally, for an intimate winter reception, we can seat 60 in the cosy dining room.

In terms of accommodation, 15 large rooms sleep up to 34 guests in all at Plas Dinam. Meanwhile, at the end of the drive, the Lodge House sleeps a further six guests. Plus there are a further two bedrooms in the Stables Loft. Alternatively, consider glamping in one of our ten super-comfortable bell tents, offered in the grounds during the summer months.

Do you charge a corkage if we bring our own alcoholic drinks?

The great news is that no, we don’t – not a penny! So bring your own fizz, wine and other drinks of choice for the post ceremony drinks and the meal, and pop those corks as much as you like. We will then run the bar for you when you get down to stables, we have a number of bar options for your reception. We can run a cash bar for you where you and your guests buy from our great selection of local and popular drinks, or you can set up a tab and provide free drinks for your guests. Cheers!

What do you not supply for wedding ceremonies and events?

Plas Dinam is a self-catering venue, so food and drinks are not included, giving you freedom and control over what you serve your guests. We can work with you with local and recommended suppliers, offering numerous options as well as a well-equipped kitchen for you to do your own catering. Furniture hire is included- we have long banqueting tables and chairs if those suit your style, though please let us know if you’d prefer to hire something different in. Clearly, things like music and flowers are also not included.

What’s your recommended list of suppliers for the weekend?

We know that when you’re organising a grand occasion, there’s always far too much to do. Equally, if you’re not familiar with the area you may not know of any suppliers locally. We’re here to help, with our list of tried-and-trust professionals – we’ve forged working relationships with some of the area’s top suppliers and so can recommend them with complete confidence. We’ll work with you to guide you through the process, plus we’ll be there on the day so that you get hitched without a hitch! However, you will liaise directly with each supplier yourself, giving you more control and allowing you to choose exactly what you want for your big day.

What events can I hire Plas Dinam for?

Essentially, the choice really is yours. We’re especially popular as a wedding venue, but equally we host an array of corporate events. We can also provide the backdrop for a relaxed reunion of friends or family you haven’t seen for far too long, or perhaps you have a special birthday or anniversary or your retirement coming up, or want to renew your marriage vows? Whatever the occasion, talk to us.

Is your venue wheelchair accessible?

We have a number of wheelchair-friendly routes at Plas Dinam, so the short answer is yes. We now have an accessible bathroom and bedroom downstairs too. The museum converts into a double bedroom, with a wet room bathroom opposite. There is a small charge to use this room for your stay.

Can I provide my own music?

Absolutely! We have a long association with music at Plas Dinam, and there’s a great tradition of wonderful sounds being created and performed here. We know that a celebration without music would be unthinkable, so you’re welcome to hire a DJ or band for your special day, or indeed to perform yourself on the grand piano! If you want inspiration, we can help with local suppliers.

So listen to some favourite sounds as you celebrate and dance the night away – we have a full entertainment license. Just remember our request to stop the music from 1230am onwards.
