Sustainable flowers by Emma of Luna Bloom.
Plas Dinam encompasses my favourite things from a wedding venue; nature, unspoilt beauty, the warmest welcome, unique spaces and views for days! Along with these key factors of what makes it such a special venue, they also have a shared ethos with us on sustainability. We strive to be sustainable in every way possible. From growing 80% of our wedding flowers at home, to avoiding floral foam and single use plastics. We re-use all our mechanics and fully embrace the season around us.
We have created florals for countless weddings at Plas Dinam and none have ever been the same, we strive to make your wedding unique from everyone else’s. We take on your colour scheme and use the “best of
the season” whatever that may be for that week – it varies every year! I have a few places at PD that are top of my list for drawing some flowery attention to:
1. The Front Door – The doors that everyone enters your wedding through. We regularly dress here, even if you aren’t having your ceremony at the front of the house. I always think it’s a good idea to make the most of this area! Whether it’s urns filled with tumbling foliage and flowers, or a full arch built to surround the door way like the entrance to the secret garden, you can’t go wrong.
2. Photographing the bouquets in the window of the Great Hall. This is a spot I can’t get enough of. We always pause here to take a few minutes to tie the silk ribbons onto the bouquets and buttonholes. We photograph the bouquets on the selection of botanical books on the side table, under the cherub painting; the light and setting is always spot on.
3. The Stables! Of course, how could we leave out the incredible glass roofed stables. We love this space in all weathers; the magical sound of rain on the glass, dappled sunlight streaming through the trees in summer or golden leaves dotted all over the roof in the autumn. With the original iron bars stretching across the area, the possibilities are endless for flowers in here. You can from as little or as big as you’d like. From large floral clouds, to hop garlands, creating a wonderful atmosphere day and night.
