Once the thrill of announcing your engagement is over, it’s time to get serious about wedding planning. Clearly, there’s no right or wrong way to do this. But if you stay organised, and work out your priorities for your big day early on, you’ll manage to enjoy this exciting time. From doing your research and deciding what style you want for your special occasion, to finalising who you’ll invite and appointing the string of suppliers you’ll need, the list of things to do can seem endless.
So it’s not a bad idea to start planning as early as you can, set a budget in advance and stick to it, and to take notes at every opportunity (there’s always lots of information to take in). Finally, build in some relaxation time before you tie the knot, so that you don’t get too caught up in the stress of planning, but start your wedding celebrations feeling refreshed and excited about getting hitched.

Take the tour around our wedding venue
We’ll start by showing you around Plas Dinam, either in person or over Zoom, giving you a personal tour of the site so you see for yourself what your wedding could look like. Remember, a key reason for marrying here is to have your day the way you want. The tour, virtual or otherwise, could kick- start some ideas and provide inspiration.
With you every step of the way
Once you’ve confirmed your wedding booking, we’ll respond promptly via email or over the phone to help at every stage of your preparations. To start with, we’ll recommend that you book the registrar, celebrant or church as soon as you’ve booked the venue. We also advise that you book your caterers at the same time, and the good news is that we have some wonderful providers on our line-up of trusted suppliers, from which you can take your pick.
In fact, this list is a helpful starting point when you’re looking for all the vendors and suppliers who’ll help bring your day together. The businesses on it are all local, and they’re all familiar with Plas Dinam. We rate them highly, and genuinely trust them to provide the best possible services and products to help make your special occasion memorable for all the right reasons.
What’s more, if you’re planning your wedding from abroad, choosing suppliers who already know the venue is helpful. It reduces the number of meetings you’ll need, because they’ll already know the logistics and set-up. (Equally, if they do have any questions they can always ask us.)
In October of the year before your wedding, we will send up to date advice along with an interactive planning form which you, and we, can start filling out with all the information about your stay at Plas Dinam.
About six months before your wedding day, we’ll invite you to Plas Dinam again. You can use this time to check the rooms out and decide who’ll stay where, and take any measurements you need from The Stables. We’ll sit down with a coffee and have a planning meeting to go through your wedding plans and indeed your multiday stay at Plas Dinam. That way, we’ll know exactly what is happening and you can relax on the day.
If you can’t make it back to Plas Dinam, however, we’ll happily do the meeting over Zoom, using our planning form to create a structure for the event.
A month before the wedding, we’ll do a final Zoom call to go through any last-minute tweaks, and to confirm numbers, pre-arrival information and any other details which still require clarification. As ever, we’ll also be on hand to help with any questions.
One of our coordinators, Louise or Katie, will be present on the day to liaise with your suppliers and ensure everything is in place, including putting chairs out for the ceremony if you’re getting married on-site. They will be at The Stables before you arrive for dinner after your drinks and canapes, making sure all is prefect, lighting candles and putting wine and water are on the table, all ready to go.
